Choice can be harder than no choice. Do you struggle with decisions?
Everything in life is about CHOICE. You can choose to love, choose to hate, choose to save, choose to work, choose to get out of bed or not. Choose how your life will pan out. Do NOT let other people make your choices for you. It is all about you.
This past week I learned a valuable lesson, a lesson about choice. Opportunity knocked and at first I was scared, do I choose my comfort zone, or should I choose possibility? Should I make a decision to embrace familiarity or move forward towards the parameters I have chosen for my wellbeing and that of my family. I had done all my homework and planning on what is best for me, but writing it down doesn’t always mean that’s what is going to happen. Your mind needs to be in the game too.
Change is inevitable, but your brain needs to be in gear.
Sticking to your plan is not always easy. There is always someone out there trying to put a spanner in your works and play with your thoughts on what is right and wrong. External factors are just challenges that we need to hurdle. First you must decide what you are looking for, really set your mind to it, and eventually when the time is right and you have chosen change, everything will fall into place.
Make the conscious decision that things are about to change.
You are only holding yourself back if you don’t deliberately make the decision to create change and acknowledge your decision.
The past 6 months I have chosen to look for work to add to my Barefoot Mentor time, but I wasn’t prepared to give up my life rules so that I was sick and unhappy again. Family is most important. Health too! And I needed to be able to have time to blog and share my experience with you.
It took a big mental shift on my part to decide that there is definitely someone out there that needs my skills and will meet my requirements and after six months of hoping and waiting, along came the perfect accompaniment to my Barefoot Mentor life.
So, the lessons I needed to acknowledge are my do’s and don’ts on making the most of your opportunities and choosing you.
DO be open to change but make sure you are happy with the outcome. There is no point in agreeing to change when it will make you stressed.
DO open your mind, make a conscious decision to choose what is best for you.
DO be confident you will make the right decisions and allow the universe to provide.
DON’T let opportunity pass you by.
DON’T allow anxiety to lead to doubt.
DON’T ever be afraid to get exactly what you want.
So when you are faced with a change, have confidence in yourself to set your parameters, what’s ultimately best for you and use your mind to acknowledge your decisions.
The choice is yours.
