Permission to shine

Permission Blog

I know the next 12 months is going to be your year! How do I know this? Because you are taking steps to understand where you have been and where you are going just by being here. Finding a mentor should be a priority.

Barefoot Mentor is all about making positive change. How do I make sure I’m going to be happy with my decisions? I always talk issues, challenges, outcomes and destinations through with the right people before spreading the word. That’s what a Mentor is for. He or she will be there to discuss your future, your fears, your roadblocks and your happiness. They are the ones on your side ALWAYS.

Setting goals for each New Year can be daunting because in the past you haven’t always done what you said you would do, I know I sure as heck didn’t. In a lot of cases, it’s because you set the bar too high or came up with something you thought other people wanted for you. It’s up to you to be realistic with your challenge. New Years Resolutions, which face it, most of us don’t stick to, are a good idea which seems to have been given a “bad name” because they generally are looking at a negative aspect that you feel needs improvement. People vow to give up things, like change their diet or get rid of bad habits.

This New Year, I give you permission to take the things you are good at and make sure you do more of those. I want to swim more! Maybe you want to spend more time at your hobby, or make improvements to your home, or take a holiday to paradise (where ever that is for you.) The key to success is to believe it can happen.

Mentors are the best sounding board as they are impartial. Yes they want the best for you, but they also have wisdom beyond your current level and are there to walk you through your decision making process. A mentor will not only let you decide on the outcome of the change they will work through the steps to get you there and offer solid advice from their perspective. They can be the voice of reason.

If you keep your thoughts only to yourself then you will more than likely not succeed. Once you have discussed your planned resolution and are happy with it. Write it down, yell it from the roof or send a message to the stars. Get it out there in whatever fashion suits you.

Having a mentor gives you permission to do the things you love and incorporate them into your everyday life, whether it is for business or pleasure.

My resolution this year was to be more creative. I made it long before I knew I would have so much opportunity to do so.

To give my creativity a run this week I made a video and gave myself the challenge of working out how to add it to my new You Tube Channel and onto this blog.

Goal setting is vitally important and planning the steps to success is equally challenging.

So this year when New Years comes around, make your resolution in a way to enhance what you already know and have and ensure you give it everything to make you shine and make sure you let your mentor in to help guide you with your plan.

Share to be inspired, be inspired to share.
