Are you the not so organised person that lives in piles of paper, yet you know exactly where everything is? I was that person too, but I’ve found a new way to stay organised.
Google Keep is my new find on how to manage the thousands of things you have going on in your mind and your life and get rid of all the clutter.
I am a multi tasker, I have lots of balls in the air at one time. Between blogging, training, marketing, and accounts for my business, I also now work organising other people as well. My life is full of jobs that needs to be tracked.
I am not a neat freak and I am of the opinion that it might be genetic as I come from a long line of paper gatherers, but with today’s world being electronic I am thinking there might be hope for me yet. Rather than have a to-do list on a scrap of paper floating around my lounge room, I have discovered a great app, Google Keep where I can store my ideas, set reminders for things to do, create multiple work areas with lots of sub tasks and use pictures to personalise each task area for easy finding. Best of all I can access it from any device I am logged into.
When I have a great idea for a blog post or a project, I open the app, write my note and voila, it’s there for me when I sit down and wonder what I’ll write about today. It’s the most handy way of keeping track of my many and various things I have going on in my brain.
The beauty of this app is you can set up as many tasks as you like, I use it across my whole life. It has been a bit of a change for me, I kind of liked my piles of paper and my notes, but it wasn’t sustainable as I’ve got more and more going on everyday. I even have all my bills to be paid set up with reminders and a list of blog post ideas that will keep me writing for a long time to come. It is the ultimate brain dump tool.
The most valuable part of this app is the way I can use it across my whole life. It’s not just a business tool, it’s a family organiser, a list of books I might get around to reading, ideas for christmas gifts, reminders of people I need to catch up with. It’s keeping me organised beyond anything I have ever used before.
It takes courage to change from the way you have always done things to a new system of organisation. I love my electronic gadgets, so if i can use them to make life better, I will.
I’m not about to tell you how to set it up or how to personalise it, because Google have all that covered on the web. I just wanted you all to know how much I love it and how much it has changed the way I download my brain.
